Aspen’s Blog: Nesting Mode Activated!

Hi there, hoomans! It’s me, Aspen — your favorite soon-to-be mama.
Today was a big day in my little world! I’m getting super close to meeting my puppies, and let me tell you, this belly is not just full of snacks anymore.
Step One: Sleep, Sleep, and… Yep, More Sleep
They say growing puppies takes a lot of energy — and I’m here to confirm: they are absolutely right. I snoozed on the couch, the carpet, my cozy blanket, and even in the laundry basket when no one was looking. Gotta rest up before I’m on full-time mom duty!
Step Two: Nest Building 101
Okay, okay… maybe I didn’t actually build a nest (I’m not a bird, after all), but I did rearrange my favorite blankies about 37 times. I made a perfect little circle, then changed my mind and scooted everything into a pile. It’s called interior design, thank you very much.
Step Three: Extra Belly Rubs, Please
I made sure everyone knew that I require 300% more belly rubs this week. I mean, how else are these puppies supposed to feel loved before they even arrive? Rubs = love. That’s just science.
Step Four: Thoughtful Gazing Out the Window
I spent some time staring dramatically out the window this afternoon. I’m just wondering what kind of adventures my puppies will go on. Will they chase squirrels? Bark at butterflies? Make mud puddles their personal spas? Only time will tell…
So yeah, that was my big day. Not super exciting to you maybe, but to a mama dog who’s getting ready for her litter? It was perfect. My hoomans say the big moment could be any day now… so I’ll keep my paws crossed and my blanket fluffed.
